On 7th August 2016, my Dad passed away.
My Mum still misses him a lot, being married to him for over 40 years.
Being the loving son I am, I wanted to give her something special and personal from me, so she knew I was still thinking of him as well, as it is coming up for the date of his memorium in a few weeks.
Mum has several pictures of him in the house and found this one and thought It would make a great artwork candidate.
I used Affinity Photo to manipulate the photo and found a tutorial from the excellent artists at Affinity Revolution – Pencil Sketch Effect which allowed me to create a perfect image.
After tweaking the image a bit more, I imported it into the etcher program and set it to etch. The result is shown below.
